The year has come to an end and the cold winter days have started. This is my favorite time of the year. I just love the winter. The whole atmosphere is so festive and the streets are decorated because of Christmas. Just love the vibes. In this post I want to share 5 things I enjoy during the cold winter days.

1. The short days

Most people don’t like the fact that the days get shorter during the winter but I love it! Because the nights are longer which means you can sleep longer and you don’t feel weird going to bed early. Another upside is you don’t have to wake up crazy early to see the sunrise. I wake up at around 6:30 – 7:00 am and get so see the sunrise every morning. Starting the day before the sun is out makes me feel much more productive. 

2. Dressing in comfortable clothes

Winter time is the time for chunky sweaters, hoodies, fluffy socks and scarves. It’s the time of lounge wear. I always like to say that I love the winter because you can dress warm in the winter but you can’t dress cold in the summer because no matter what you do you can’t escape the heat except with an air conditioner but not by dressing down. But in winter you can put on as many layers as you need to keep you warm and cozy.

3. Hot drinks like coffee and tea

A cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate feels so much better on a cold winter day. When you are out in the cold and your hands are freezing a cup of hot coffee or hot chocolate works like an heater for your hands and when you drink it, it feels like a warm hug from the inside. 

4. Candles

Scented candles are a must have for me during the winter. They create a warm and cozy atmosphere in my house and the house smells nice too.

5. Christmas

I don’t celebrate Christmas but I love the overall vibes of Christmas during the winter days. Everything is so festive and cheerful. The streets and shops are decorated and there is cute lighting everywhere.
